    Is that in the rules?
    I’ve never heard it before
    My haikus are wrong

  2. Jess says:

    It just don’t sound right
Haikus are meant to be poems
    Not sentences split.
    Whole phrases should flow
    Pause between lines seems natural
    Just breathe now and then.

Apparently it’s not actually a haiku rule, it’s just my rule since I think splitting sentences ruins the whole point of the format. Apparently there are some classic haiku that do use the technique of “cutting” as they call it. So while I thought it was a rule, I suppose it’s just a preference.
