Our evening at The Kinetoscopic Wonderment Film Festival

Tonight was The Kinetoscopic Wonderment Film Festival. This was the specific festival for which we made our “Keep Austin Weird” movie. I’m sure you’re all on the edge of your seats, wondering how we did…

I am an Award Winning Film Maker.
Here are our awards for Best Computer Sciences Film (as in “it involved someone from the UT Computer Science department”, not about Computer Science) and “Best Choice” as the award says. It would otherwise be known as “People’s choice” chosen by the audience. The “Foreign Film” category was for films which did not involve anyone from the UT Computer Science Department. My cousin Casey works for the UT CS Department. He produced and played a pivotal role in the film.
It was a very cool and fun evening. I gave 2 speeches. One more step toward world domination has been completed!

    That is SO AWESOME!
    Next stop, my house!
…I of course mean “Hollywood,” but I hope you’ll at least stop off here for a cup of coffee before you get famous and forget about us little people.

I never noticed when taking that photo that the light fixture in the background makes you look like you have multiple horns. Or ossicones, yes. Man, I’d make such a crappy DP.

  8. GA says:

    Neat!
And deserved. (Albeit I don’t know the level of competition – but given how your film was more entertaining than any short I’ve ever seen on IFC or Sundance Channel…)
Are you going to submit it to other festival type events?

  9. Eileen says:

    That’s brilliant! Congratulations!
