Perspective

Obnoxious ring tone
No one is amused but you
Mine is damn cool, though

I think ringtones based on popular songs are incredibly annoying. There’s bound to be someone who’s been unwillingly subjected to the song and who hates it, no matter what it is. Yours (the cantina song from Star Wars) is kind of weird in that it’s from one of the most popular films of all time, and yet if someone knows that song well enough to recognise it, they’re likely to be a fan and therefore think it’s cool. It’s not like the song was a seventeen week number one hit. (Though, knowing what George Lucas is like, it probably would be if the film came out now.) People who don’t like SW probably don’t even recognise it.
That said, any ring tone is annoying when it goes off inappropriately, and loudly, and when the person answers the phone annoyingly.

Recently I was told that my ringtone stinks. He was right, too, but it remains the best of the choices on my sadly limited phone. Hey, pal, if I could get Bentley’s Gonna Sort You Out!, Mike Mills or Popcorn on my phone, don’t you think I would?!

Simon, don’t tell me you have one of those phones that – gasp! – can only play the ringtones it came with? I didn’t think they made those any more :P.

Yes, only the twenty in-built choonz. It’s a 2002 special, I’m afraid. A hideously old anachronism of a phone. 😛

I’ve got one of those archaic phones too! I really should upgrade as I’d love to have an annoying popular song on mine. I’ve settled for the good old reliable Toccata & Fugue by Bach in the meantime…

And why have I not noticed those freaky eyeballs on your links before? EEEEWWWW!!! What were you on, dude?
    (Hours of fun though.)
